How do Modern Woodmen Bank customers make deposits?
  • Electronic direct deposit — Have your Payroll, Social Security or other checks automatically deposited into your account
  • Online banking transfers — transfer from internal or external accounts
  • Utilize Mobile Deposit and eDeposit — Deposit checks through your phone or a Twain compliant scanner
  • ATM deposits and transfers (where available) — Use your Modern Woodmen Bank debit card to deposit money at participating ATMs in the Shazam®, Star®, NYCE®, Pulse® and Cirrus® networks
  • Mail — Use free Modern Woodmen Bank postage paid envelopes to send your checks or money orders for deposit into your account

What should I do if my debit card is lost or stolen?

Call 877-255-2265 immediately and follow the prompts to report it lost or stolen and cancel your card.


Can a Modern Woodmen of America Agent accept my deposits?

Modern Woodmen of America Agents are not authorized to accept deposits.

How can I transfer funds between accounts?

We offer several options for transferring funds: 

  • Online at: ModernWoodmenBank.com
  • ATM: a Shazam®, NYCE®, Pulse®, Star® or Cirrus® ATM
  • Mobile or Text Banking
  • 24 hour Telephone Banking at 877-255-2265

How do I sign up for direct deposit?

Contact the party from which you are receiving the deposit and ask for a direct deposit form or use our online form.

To use our online form:

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click the Direct Deposit button under the Customer Service tab
  • Print the provided form
  • Complete the information requested then provide a copy to your current payor
  • You will need the following information to complete the form:
  • Your account number

Does Modern Woodmen Bank offer surcharge free ATM transactions?

Experience surcharge free ATM transactions when you use ANY ATM; you'll pay no surcharge for your transaction. If you incur a fee, Modern Woodmen Bank will refund unlimited ATM surcharges on your Checking or Savings account. You will see the fees credited to your account the same day the transaction posts.

How do I access account information once my account is open?

You can access information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online by establishing a user ID and password or by phone at 877-255-2265.

How do I reorder checks?

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click the Reorder Checks button under the Customer Service tab; Requests & Messages
  • Select the account you wish to order checks on
  • Click the Continue button

What do I do if there is a transaction that I do not recognize?

If you do not recognize a transaction in your register, send us a secure message or call us toll free at 877-255-2265 between the hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT. To send a secure message:

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click the Messages button under the Customer Service tab
  • Click the Ask a Question/Send a Message link
  • Complete the information requested and click the Send button

Mobile and Text Banking

How do I install the downloadable application?

  • After registering your phone through online banking you will receive a text message from 79680. Select to view (or open) the message (you can also view it later by going to your phone's text message inbox).
  • Select the URL link -- http://m.mwabank.com -- in the text message. This is typically done by selecting a command on your phone's menu, such as "Connect" or "Go To."
  • You will then be brought to a page with a Download link. Click this link to download the application.
  • When finished, you will be notified that the download completed.
  • After launching the application for the first time, you may be asked to give permission to access the data network. You will need to grant permission in order to proceed.


What is the Modern Woodmen Bank text number/short code?

All text messages should be sent to 79680.

Is Modern Woodmen Bank Mobile Banking supported on my phone?

Mobile Banking is supported on most phones with a mobile web browser that supports cookies. In addition, the mobile application is available on many smartphones including: iPhone and Android models. Both mobile web and mobile applications can be found by entering the mobile web URL (http://m.mwabank.com) in your phone's browser or by going to your app store.

What if my device is lost or stolen?

If you are concerned about misuse of your phone, contact your mobile service provider immediately to stop all wireless service. Additionally, you may sign on to online banking and disable or remove access to your phone.

How do I access Modern Woodmen Bank Mobile Banking on my phone’s browser?

After successful activation, your phone will receive a text message with your Mobile Banking URL. You can visit the site at any time at http://m.mwabank.com .

I’m not enrolled for online banking. Can I still use Modern Woodmen Bank Mobile or Text Banking?
You must enroll for online banking before using Modern Woodmen Bank Mobile or Text  Banking.

What are the Modern Woodmen Bank Text Banking Commands?
NOTE: You can check for additional available commands by activating your phone and sending C to 79680.

Online Banking & Online Bill Payment

How do I enroll for Online Banking?
You can enroll for online banking any time after your account is active, simply visit our home  page; select Enroll, you will need to complete four steps:

  1. Confirm Identity
  2. Create a sign on
  3. Review disclosures
  4. Review Information
Once this is completed you will have access immediately. Please call us toll free at 877-255-2265 Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT if you have any questions.

Can I transfer money to my account at Modern Woodmen Bank from my account at another financial institution?
You may use Modern Woodmen Bank’s Online Account Transfer service to transfer funds into  and out of your accounts held at Modern Woodmen Bank, respectively from and to your accounts  held at other institutions. Safe and secure, our authentication interface verifies the ownership of  the external account prior to any funds being transferred:

  • Funds are moved using the ACH network
  • Transfer requests received before 1:00 pm CT will arrive within 1-3 business days
  • Outbound transfers from your account at Modern Woodmen Bank to an account at another financial institution settle the next business day
  • Inbound transfers from your account at another financial institution settle within three business days
  • There is no charge for this transaction

To transfer money to or from an account with another financial institution:

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click on Make A Transfer under the Transfers tab
  • Click on External Transfer
  • Complete the information requested and click continue then the Submit button

There is no charge for this transaction.

What do I do if I forgot my Sign-On ID and/or password?

If you have forgotten your Username:

  • Type in what you think your username is, click log in,
  • The next page will give you the option to choose Not your username? From this screen you may select Forgot your username?
  • Enter the required information; your username can then be retrieved from your email for you to use.
  • Or you may call a Customer Service Representative Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT, toll free at 877-255-2265 for further assistance.

If you have forgotten your Password:

  • Enter your Username and click the Log In button
  • Click the Forgot your Password link
  • Complete the information requested and click Continue
  • This will allow you to update your password after verification is complete.


How much money can I transfer per transaction per day with the Account Transfer service?

The minimum transfer amount is $10. The standard external transfer limit is $2,000 per transaction and per day. If you believe you will need to transfer more than this, please phone Modern Woodmen Bank toll free at 877-255-2265 Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT to request an increase to your transfer limit.

What are Dynamic Transfers?
Dynamic Transfers allows you to establish a relationship between two or more accounts where  funds are automatically moved between the accounts based on criteria determined by you.

Dynamic Transfers relationships fall under three categories:

  • Overdraft Protection (ODP) – where funds flow from the secondary account to the primary account whenever the primary account balance falls below zero
  • Zero Balance Account (ZBA) – where the balance in the primary account is kept at zero by transferring excess funds from the primary account to the secondary accounts to bring the balance down to zero, and just the opposite to bring the balance up to zero if the primary account is overdrawn
  • Sweep Relationship (SWEEP) – which functions similarly to the ZBA relationship, only a target or “peg” balance is established in the primary account at some level above zero
In every dynamic transfer relationship there is one primary account and one or more secondary accounts. You can add, view and maintain your own Dynamic Transfer relationships with Modern Woodmen Bank’s Online Banking.

What accounts can I view online at Modern Woodmen Bank?
You can view any accounts that you are listed on as an owner or signor. You can view the  following accounts online: 

  • Checking
  • Savings
  • Certificates of Deposit
  • IRAs
  • HSAs
  • Loans
  • Credit Cards

Why would an account be missing in my Online Banking?

Check to see if you have hidden any accounts or if your account has been closed it will no longer show in your online banking.

How do I transfer funds between accounts at Modern Woodmen Bank?

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click on Make A Transfer under the Transfers tab
  • Complete the information requested and click continue review the information then click Submit

There is no charge for this transaction.

How do I set up recurring transfers?

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click on Make A Transfer under the Transfers tab, select Internal or External Transfer
  • Complete the information requested, choose the frequency, start dates and number of transfers (if applicable) and click continue review the information then click Submit

There is no charge for this transaction.

How do I download my transaction information?

From the Accounts Tab select Download Account Transactions, from here you can choose the Account, Time period, Transaction type & File format type

How do I schedule a bill payment?

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click the Bill Payment button under the Bill Payment tab

Bank Routing Number

What is Modern Woodmen Bank’s routing number?

Modern Woodmen Bank is a marketing name for MWABank. MWABank's routing number is 071174512. A Bank Routing Number is also known as an ABA number, or Transit Routing Number. Unique Bank Routing Numbers are assigned to each financial institution used to move funds electronically between financial institutions.

What is MWABank’s SWIFT Code?
SWIFT Codes are used when transferring money between banks, particularly international  transfers. MWABank does not have a SWIFT Code. If you are sending money to an international  bank, please contact the receiving bank to obtain wiring instructions to receive funds from the  United States.

To obtain information about your mortgage or home equity loan, please log on to your online banking account or call us toll free at 877-255-2265.

To obtain information about your Home Equity Line of Credit, please log on to your online banking account or call us toll free at 877-255-2265.

How do I obtain a payoff statement?

You can send a secure message through Online Banking: 

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click the Messages button under the Customer Service tab
  • Click the Ask a Question/Send a Message link
  • Complete the information requested and click the Send button

How do I enroll for Express Deposit?

Enroll by sending a secure request through your online banking account:

  • Click on the Requests & Messages link under the Customer Service tab
  • Select Express & Mobile Deposit Application
  • Select the account from the drop down and type, “Please setup”

A Customer Service Representative will respond back when the accounts are enrolled.

How do I enroll for Mobile Express Deposit?

You will be automatically enrolled once you download the mobile banking application and select the "Check Deposit" option within the menu.


How can I make a Mobile Express Deposit?
Deposits are made by simply logging in to the mobile banking application, selecting “Check Deposit”, and following the on screen prompts. 

Do I need a data plan to use Modern Woodmen Bank Mobile Express Deposit?

Yes. A data plan is typically needed, as data usage can become expensive without them. Please check with your wireless carrier for more information.

What type of scanner do you require to use Modern Woodmen Bank Express Deposit?

All TWAIN compliant scanners will work.

How can I make an Express Deposit?

  • Once you are enrolled for Express deposit, log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Click the Express Deposit button under the Accounts tab

Gift Cards

How do I order Modern Woodmen Bank Visa® gift cards?

Gift cards may be purchased online or via telephone.

To purchase gift cards online:

  • Log in to Online Banking using your Username and Password
  • Select Requests & Messages under the Customer Service tab
  • Click on the Gift Cards link on the left hand side of the screen
  • Accept the disclosure and complete the information requested

To order over the phone, call 877-255-2265. Phone orders may be placed Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT.

What happens if my gift card is lost or stolen?

Keep a record of the card number in a safe place, separate from the card, as you will need this information to report your card lost or stolen.

Immediately report a lost or stolen card by phoning the toll free 24 hour hotline at 866-330-6601.

To replace a lost or stolen card call us toll free at 877-255-2265, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT Monday - Friday. We will issue a new card with the remaining account balance for a fee of $7.00.

How do I access and redeem ScoreCard Rewards?

Log in to Modern Woodmen Bank Online Banking, access your home page, and select the ScoreCard hyperlink.

Do you offer a cash back option?
Our program offers the option of purchasing Modern Woodmen Bank Visa® gift cards. The best  part is you do not have the restriction of only receiving cash back annually; you can redeem your Rewards  Points for gift cards anytime. 

What amount of Rewards Points is required for Modern Woodmen Bank Visa® Gift Cards?
Gift cards are offered in values of $50, $75, and $100. The Rewards Points required are  as follows:

  • 5,000 points for a $50 gift card
  • 7,500 points for a $75 gift card
  • 10,000 points for a $100 gift card


How do I combine household credit and debit cards for faster rewards?

Log in to Modern Woodmen Bank Online Banking, access your home page, and select the ScoreCard hyperlink. From the ScoreCard home page, select "Combine your Rewards Points for greater reward options" and follow the instructions to complete your request.

How do I find out my current Rewards Points total?
ScoreCard Rewards points are reported to you on each monthly statement you receive. You may also login to online banking to check your rewards point accumulation or call 800-854-0790.

When do my Rewards Points expire?

Rewards Points accumulate and are valid for 5 years, expiring in May after the 5th year.

What Rewards Points do I earn for purchases*?

  • Credit Card – You will earn 1 Rewards Point for every $1 spent on credit card purchases.
  • Debit Card Signature – You will earn 1 Rewards Point for every $2 spent on signature debit card purchases.
  • Debit Card PIN – You will earn 1 Rewards Point for every $4 spent on PIN debit card purchases

*Purchases minus returns that you charge to your credit or debit card. Rewards Points are not earned for finance charges, fees, cash advances, balance transfers, convenience checks, foreign currency conversion charges or other charges that may be assessed against your account.

Refer and Reward

Where can I find my referral code?

Log into Online Banking using your Username and Password. Your referral code is located on the top, right side. You will find your referral code under "Refer and Reward."


What do I need to know about my Referral Code?


Your Referral Code must be entered at the time of application to be eligible to earn Points. On the first page of our online application there is a designated place for the applicant to enter your referral code. An applicant can apply online at our website ModernWoodmenBank.com or on the phone with a bank representative at 877-255-2265 between the hours of Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CT. If applying on the phone, a bank representative will ask for a referral code.


What do I need to know about rewards points?


  • Only individual account holders (“You”, “Your” or “Referrer”) with active personal account(s) with MWABank, are eligible to be a Referrer and earn Points for Qualified Referrals.
  • Your personal account must be active and in good standing at the time your Qualified Referral is received for processing.
  • Qualified Referrals must be active on the day the monthly cycle is processed in order to calculate and post the Points earned.
  • Qualified referrals are defined as new, eligible account(s) opened and funded after the program go live date of December 1, 2016. Eligible accounts are Regular Checking , Regular Savings , Dollars and Sense Savings , Credit Card , and non-qualified Certificate of Deposit.
  • The Monthly Cycle will occur on or about the 15th of each month. This date is subject to change based on weekends and holidays when the Bank is not open for processing.
  • You can view your points by logging into Online Banking using your Username and Password.
  • You can view your points by logging into Online Banking and at the top right hand side; you will find a link for ScoreCard ® Rewards points. Within this ScoreCard® link you can redeem you accumulated points for travel, merchandise, or Visa® Gift Cards that are available in the current ScoreCard® program.


Is there a limit to how many points I can receive in a month or in a year?


There is not a restriction on the number of Qualified Referrals that you can receive rewards points for. Points earned for qualified referrals will be reported on a 1099MISC. Points earned for qualified referrals for your account(s) opened and owned by you will be reported on a 1099INT. You are responsible for any applicable federal, state or local taxes.
