  • Quality family life through fraternal chapter and youth service club programs for good times and fraternal benefits for times of need
  • Community impact through educational programs and volunteer service activities nationwide

Modern Woodmen of America was named in honor of the pioneering woodmen who cleared the forests to build homes and communities and provide security for their families. Its founder, Joseph Cullen Root, formed a society in 1883, harnessing the same spirit to clear away family financial difficulties. While its founding mission has remained unchanged, the financial products and fraternal services have changed to meet the needs of Modern Woodmen families.
